LeWray 'Ray' L. Pettis' Obituary
LeWray ‘Ray’ L. Pettis of Leesburg passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Ray proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He moved to Fort Lauderdale in the 1960’s and relocated to Lake County in 1971. Ray was the owner of Ray’s Ivy Hill Nursery until he retired in the 1990’s. He was a member of the Golden Triangle Moose Lodge # 874, the Golden Triangle Eagle Club and the Eustis Elks Lodge # 1578. In addition to spending time at the clubs with his friends, he loved to go fishing. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn. She passed away on 2005. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his sons, LeWray David Pettis of Leesburg, Richard Lewis Pettis of Eustis and LeVern Edward Pettis of St. Petersburg; daughter, Deborah Peters of Eustis; brothers, Larry Pettis of Bonifay, Florida and Charles Pettis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family will hold a celebration in his honor soon. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
