Leon F. Thomas' Obituary
Leon Floyd Thomas 76, of Leesburg, passed away on January 29, 2015. He was a winter resident since 2005, making his summer home in Wausau, Wisconsin. He was Catholic and attended St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis regularly. Leon was an active member and volunteer at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Wausau, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a retired pressman for James River Paper Company of Wausau, having worked there for 37 years. He is survived by his wife Bernadette Stieber-Thomas of Leesburg and Wausau, they were married for ten years, his children; Jeff (Pamula) Thomas of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Mark (Brandee) Thomas of Spencer, Wisconsin and Rick (Julie) Thomas of Madison, Wisconsin, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, his brothers; Mike (Eldonna) Thomas of Marinette, Wisconsin, Bob (Karin) Thomas of Janesville, Wisconsin and Pat Thomas of Wausau, his sister, Ruth (Rodger) Josiger of Wausau, Wisconsin, his stepchildren; Jeanette Knauf-Masanz (Allen), and Lorton (Carol) Stieber of Marathon, Wisconsin, Beverley (Ron) Estes of Panama City, Florida, Margie (Aaron) Erdman of Durant, Iowa, Gordon (Lois) Stieber, Rodney (Bonnie) Stieber and Larry (Connie) Stieber, all of Marathon, Wisconsin, Darrell (Crystal) Stieber of Edgar, Wisconsin, Kelly Thompson of Clearwater, Florida,and Carrie (Jon) Chandler of Wausau, Wisconsin. Additionally he is survived by his first wife's siblings; Robert (Virgene) Knauf of Marathon Wisconsin, Patricial (Micheal) Hau of Germantown Wisconsin and Mary(John) Rastl of Wausau Wisconsin. Leon was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Thomas in 2002, his twin brother Leo and his other siblings; Hildagarde Witter, Patricia Schmidt, Eva Chamberlain and Wilford Thomas. He was also preceded in death by is brother in law Richard Knauf.
