I worked with Leon (Mauf) at the Mt. Dora Post Office for many years, and he was always ready with a new joke!! Even after he retired, he would call me occasionally to tell me a funny one. He was also my life-saving Saturday "Nanny" for my then 12 year old son after my husband died. Chris (who is now 25) still remembers trips to the springs with Leon and Ashley. Thanks Leon!!##imported-begin##Ginny Rook##imported-end##

We'll all miss a great Pop to his immediate family and a terrific "cuz" to the rest of us. He loved nothing better than having a great time with all the folks he could get to attend the memorable reunions he worked so hard on.Definitely one in a million. Family was everything to him.Love, Bebe & Krista Kelly, Pat & Ed Argue##imported-begin##Patte & Ed Argue##imported-end##
I will miss having lunch with Leon and shushing him for his obnoxious mouth. I'm sure he is already "taking over" where ever he has landed. He was my good friend and always wanted the best for me. He loved his family and talked about you guys often (when he wasn't harrassing the waitress). Rest in Peace my friend Leon!##imported-begin##Debbie North##imported-end##
My contact with Leon was very little but my family and particularly my father Milton Wimpee held Leon in high regard especially while reminiscing fishing trips and vacations together. My condolences to the Maufroy family.##imported-begin##B. Mark Wimpee##imported-end##
I would like to offer my condolences to the Family of Leon. I knew him to have humor, love the game of baseball, love to fish, love his job at the Post Office, love to work as a Fireman at the Jericho Volunteer Fire Dept. and love kids. Dear Family of Leon,I knew Leon through our family genealogy and his McRae Reunions. He so very much enjoyed spending time with all of his relatives. And, he was a great help to me in recording some of our family's information.I enjoyed being around him as did my husband. He was a good guy! Due to his illness and my own health I have not seen him in a couple years, but I have never quit thinking about him and I never will.
