Larry D. Dunbar's Obituary
Larry D. Dunbar of Eustis, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Lansing, Michigan. Larry was the owner/operator of Dunbar Drilling, specializing in elevator shaft drilling and construction. Through his career, he worked in Georgia, Florida and New York. Larry met Nancy and after a 9-year courtship, they were married. Together, they moved to the Miami area in 1981 and then to Lake County Florida in 1996. Larry enjoyed playing Chess, especially with his granddaughter. He also enjoyed bowling. Larry liked college football and was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Dale and Beulah Uida Dunbar and his father-in-law and very good friend, Robert H. Badder. Larry is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 26 years, Nancy; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Dunbar, Jr. and Diane of Toledo, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dunbar and Blanche of Seattle, Washington; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bob Schmidt of Sylvania, Ohio; daughter, Julie Perkins of Charlotte, North Carolina; step-daughters, Linda McClean of Eustis, Piper Halliday of Eustis, Wendy Halliday of Eustis and Heather (Donnie) Steverson of Eustis; sister, Carol Dunbar of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Bobby, Angela, Johnny, Katherine, Marc, Jaclyn, Derin, Devin, Justin, Brooke, Kortney, Jessica and Kennie; and great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Oliver, Conrad and Bailey.
