Kathy and I went to high school together and were friends. About 8 years after graduation we ended up being co-workers at Hofmeister Insurance Agency in Elroy (she recommended me for the job) and we worked (and laughed) together for the next few years. She had a heart of gold and a crazy sense of humor (she was one of those folks who laughed just as heartily at herself as anything else). I was at her wedding to Ray...and recall how she always referred to him as her "Munzie", (a take off on the Ray-MOND) part of his name. He in turn referred to her as "Graceful".....because she really could be klutzy at times! 🤣 Oh the stories I could tell - I even wrote a little poem about her mishaps for the dinner held in her honor when she left the insurance agency.... As all too often happens, we just didn't keep in touch much after that. I think it's been at least 25 years since we last saw each other and 5 years since we last communicated when my mother passed away. Despite that lapse in time, her passing has really hit me.... Rest in peace my friend, you were a big part of the best times in my life...
