An added note about Judy's nickname. I remember now that we called her "Cebolla," or "onion" in Spanish. And yes, it was a play on her maiden name. Definitely a loving nickname. I believe she liked it.

Sincere condolences to Judy's sons, brother, and all the family. I served in Judy's group in the Peace Corps. We trained together in Albuquerque for an educational television project in Colombia. She was so vivid, energetic, bright, and capable--one of the best of our group. We called her "Onion" as a fond nickname based on her maiden name of Bennion. The PC group had tried to get in touch with her to invite her to our irregular reunions, and it is very sad news that we missed her by just a few months. I have several photos of her from training. Unforgettable person. All my best, Abby Wasserman, Mill Valley, CA
I would like to send my condolences to the entire Steuber family. Judy was such a special person. Definitely one of a kind. So caring and loving. She was like a grandmother to me for so many years. All of her work through the years she has touched so many peoples lives & hearts! We love you Judy and are going to miss you!!
Love,
