Joyce W. "Judy" Mulholland's Obituary
Joyce Wright Mulholland (Judy) passed away in Wilmington, Delaware on October 1, 2012. She was born in Thomasville, North Carolina on November 20, 1918 to Thomas E. and Geneva Welborn Wright. She graduated from Thomasville High School and completed nurses training at Watts Hospital in Durham, N.C. After obtaining her R.N. degree, she worked at Duke University Hospital and then entered the U.S. Navy during World War II. She served in the Navy Nurses Corp in the South Pacific for five years and for three years in the states. Judy married James Ralph Mulholland (Jim) in May 1946 and lived in Eustis, Florida for over 60 years. For many years she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Camellia Garden Club, Women for Hospice and worked as a volunteer at the Eustis Memorial Library. She was a resident of Wilmington, Delaware for eight years.Judy is survived by her daughters, Jaye Spencer and Joy Mulholland; her grandchildren, Justin Jackson and Sasha Davis; great grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary, Elijah, and Nathan Jackson, and many nephews and nieces.Services were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel at 11 AM on Tuesday October 9th with Rev. Leon Bloder of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis officiating, private interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
