Joseph Ephrian Carter, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph Ephrian Carter, Jr. of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born in Leesburg, Florida and grew up in Grand Island. Joey graduated from Eustis High School. He was on the 1963 football team that went undefeated and won the state championship. After high school, he joined the US Army and proudly served in Vietnam. He retired as a Sergeant First Class after more than 21 years of service. While serving, he met his future wife, Linda and they were married on June 30, 1984. After his military career, he went to work for the Social Security Administration and worked as a claims specialist, retiring after 13 years. Joey was an avid hunter and bass fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jay Carter, earlier this year. He was also preceded by his sister, Deborah Brambrink. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 38 years, Linda; son, Jamie (Shannon) Carter of Mount Dora, Florida; brothers, Dale (Naila) Carter of Bothell, Washington, Douglas Carter of Tavares, Florida and Donald Carter of Lake Alfred, Florida; sisters, Sharon (Bruce) Pickering of Morgan City, Louisiana and Linda (Richard) Caso of Miami, Florida; as well as 5 grandchildren.
