i can remember so many things as to when we were kids. Johnnie always had some kind advice lol always in love... he was a person that nobody could ever forget..he was loved by many also in good health but died so quickly . I guess it was his time for him to be our guardian angel and god loves us all but some how he has one of the angels with him today ...I know my daddy granny and granddaddy is shouting and johnnie saying well the life styles sure has changed ....and I could just see them all laughing and singing and sitting by the river bank what a blessing to be able to know and feel them emotions today we love you johnnie ...see you there one day save me a spot in loving memory always ....

Uncle Johnnie was the definition of a " Character ". He was always quick with a suggestion for your life and a joke. Being married to his nephew Joey for over fifteen years I had many Holiday's with him, and surprise Saturday morning visit's on his bicycle. He loved a fresh pot of coffee and always enjoyed anything I cooked for him. Johnnie was mostly a loner except for his family especially his sister Mary ( my mother-in-law), whom he cared for and looked after to his last day. Although Johnnie never had children of his own he was a surrogate to Joey and his sister Debbie. As Joey and my sons came along he showed Pride and always had a good suggestion and praise for them.. Uncle Johnnie was one-of-a-kind and will forever be missed! Sherie

Johnnie I can't describe the sadness I am feeling but delight in the memories of all the good times we got to share together through the years. My first memory of you was in Starke when you were chasing me across the floor mumbling some kind of military cadence or chant. I can remember the anticipation of grandmama and granddaddy as they would wait for your arrival from many months out at sea and how you would dote on your mama and daddy. You were a good son Johnnie. You were there for me more than you know as a mentor, motivator and father figure and I will miss you very much. I did not realize how much I depended on you until now and all the things you did for us over the years. Thanks for being there Johnnie. I love you Uncle Johnnie.

I remember when my uncle johnnie moved to GA he always came to see me every morning before I would get off work ..He was the best person to get advise from....[ he made us laugh he has made us cry but today lord we rejoice that you have chosen another angel to take to take to the sky. to watch over us day and night ,,you could have left him here on earth but your plans are always the best.... so lord we give him to you..as we lay him to rest ....he will be deeply missed I love you johnnie in loving memory .... always .... Uncle Johnnie , to me was the exact definition of " A Character ". Being married to his nephew Joey for over fifteen years I had many occasions to enjoy his company. He loved Joey like a son and as each of our boy's came along he was never without advice for us, although he never had children himself ,he acted as a serrogate to Joey and his sister Debbie. Johnnie was one of the most unique individuals I've ever known. He kept mostly to himself except for his family especially his only sister (my Mother-in law) Mary, whom he cared for and looked after until his last day. I've shared many a meal and holiday with Uncle Johnnie, and I always knew to make a fresh pot of coffee for him when he made a surprise Saturday morning visit. I enjoyed his blunt humor and he and I were always egging each other on . I mostly will remember how after we would finish a visit full of jokes and critiques, he always left on a serious note with sincere advice and praise for our sons who he seemed to truly Love. Johnnie was one-of-a-kind and I'm glad to have known him!
