Uncle Johnny was always so much fun when we were kids! He always had a peppermint to share, and sometimes.... a coin to give away- I always loved when that happened. As I grew older, I came to appreciate Johnny and Francis even more, admiring their enduring love and commitment to each other. And more recently over the years, when visiting the house, Johnny always had some joke to crack and some remembrance to share. I am very glad that I was able to see him one more time last year.
Thank you for being the best grandfather a girl could ever have. I am so grateful that I had you for 47 years and even more thankful that my boys had over 20 years with you in their lives. You have a great - great granddaughter "Cyrus Jo" that will be here any day now and we will share all of the memories and stories of you with her as she grows older. I am going to be her Lottie :)

Hey "Grandpa", well not really, John was my first Father In Law, just started calling him grandpa for some reason, He was more like a second Dad. I thought the world of him. Thank you for the privilege of your time, your wisdom, your understanding, and your love, and the privilege of having your daughter as my wonderful wife and mother of our 2 children Rest in peace my friend. you were one amazing guy.
