John W. "Jack" Dempsey's Obituary
John W. “Jack” Dempsey 92, of Altoona, passed away on December 3, 2015. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Florida in 1986. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares and a retired sales representative in the plumbing and heating industry. Jack was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by his son Paul Dempsey of Ocala and was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis, in 2012. Visitation will be held in the Hamlin and Hilbish Chapel on Tuesday, December 8th from 3 until 5 PM. Graveside services with Rev. John Barham officiating and military honors will be held in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis at 10 AM Wednesday, December 9th. Memorial services will be held in the Lakeview Terrace Community Center, Altoona, at 1 PM Wednesday.
