John M. Gaylord's Obituary
John M Gaylord, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully and with great joy on Friday, March 26, 2010. He was born August 22, 1952 in Eustis, Florida and was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 2 sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife (Paula), his children Martin Stein (Rebecca), JP (Stephanie) Gaylord, and Rob Gaylord and 4 grandchildren Cooper, Noa, and Asher Stein, and Abigail Gaylord, and his brother and sister-in-law Frank and Julie Gaylord and several nephews and a niece. Most of his career was in manufacturing and distribution and he recently retired from a position as an Office Practice Manager for a veterinary clinic. His greatest satisfaction came from experiencing the beauty of God’s world through his photography, gardening, hunting and fishing and through serving others in Habitat for Humanity builds in Honduras, South Korea, South Africa, Mexico, and Costa Rica. He was thankful for God’s goodness as he moved beyond charity into issues of justice both locally and globally.A memorial service was held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 3215 4 Mile Road NE. The family received friends at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff chapel.
