Joan W. McRee's Obituary
Joan W. McRee of Eustis passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born in Sanford, Florida and moved to Eustis around 1940. Joan was an educator and guidance counselor for the Lake County School system for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eustis, now known as Lifepointe Church, since 1946, and sang in the choir. She served as interim Principal at Blue Lake Academy where she also served on the board. Joan was a Sunday school teacher at the church and volunteered with the Gideons. She was a proud member of the Delta Kappa Gamma. Joan helped many people as a counselor at Life’s Choices.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph “Joe” McRee on July 14, 2019. Joan is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Lynne M. (Michael) Lynch of Tavares, Florida and Kelley (Rick A.) Faulkner of Jamestown, New York; sister, Judy W. (Randy) Edwards of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Will Morgan, Samantha Newman, Zachary Morgan and Andrew Faulkner; as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Thursday, September 16 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, September 17 at 12:00 noon at Lifepointe Church in Eustis.
