Joan Feldhaus' Obituary
Joan Feldhaus passed peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on April 8, 2012. She was born in Wheatfield, IN on August 27, 1930 to Olan and Anna Minor. She was a graduate of Elkhart Business College in 1950. She worked as Receptionist and Secretary for many years in Valparaiso, IN and Chicago, IL. Joan was very active in mental health services. Upon her retirement, she moved to Crossville, TN, then to Florida to be near her sons. Her passion was her home and entertaining family and friends. Her great sense of humor endeared her to everyone. She was a fabulous cook, loved collecting and restoring antiques and had a wonderful appreciation of art and music. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Lambert, and her brothers, Olan, Jr. and Wilbur Minor. Joan is remembered by her sons, Thomas (Erna, fiancée) Feldhaus, Mt. Dora, FL, James Feldhaus, Amarillo, TX, and Robert (Lola) Feldhaus, Salyersville, KY; grandsons, Brian and Robert of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Kristin of Ft. Pierce, FL; sisters, Kathryn Gdalman of Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and Cheryn (Wayne) Markert of Indianapolis, IN; 11 nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 2 great-great-nephews. The family sends a special thanks to everyone at Lake Eustis Care Center for their wonderful care and support. There will be a memorial for family and friends on July 28th in Indiana.
