Joan was a wonderful neighbor and a very special friend to mom and me. She has always occupied a special place in my heart. We will miss her so very much. Mrs. Alger was my neighbor when I was very young and was a little like a second mom to me. She wastched out after all the kids in the neighborhood. She was kinda the "June Clever" of Rose st. We moved out of the neighborhood but I always felt like she was a still a part of my life. She was a wonderful person and raised a great son Michael. Joan and I both live on Rose St. and ever since she moved there I saw Joan working on her lawn, walking her dog and tending her beautiful flowers. Having known her since high school she was a beautiful woman in her heart and to look at, as her personality and smile made me happy to call her My Friend.
