Jerry Lee Deshler's Obituary
Jerry Lee Deshler, age 79, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Tavares, Florida. He was born on October 1, 1946, in Adrian, Michigan, to Gerald and Mary Deshler.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy for six years, a period of his life that shaped his character, discipline, and love of country. Following his service, he built a long and successful career that included 23 years with Good Year and later as a Regional Service Manager in Sales for NAPA, where he formed lifelong friendships and was highly respected for his dedication and work ethic.
In 1971, Jerry moved to Florida, later spending a brief time in Kentucky before ultimately returning to Florida, where he made his permanent home. On August 11, 1990, he married the love of his life, Rochella "Rocky" Deshler, at College Park Baptist Church, beginning a partnership marked by devotion, faith, and a shared love of family.
Jerry was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Umatilla, where he enjoyed fellowship and community. His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors and adventure—golfing, hunting, boating, and traveling were among his favorite pastimes. He often acted as an unofficial travel agent for his friends and loved ones, planning memorable trips and making sure everyone had a wonderful experience.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mary Deshler; his son, Kevin Deshler; his daughter, Deanna Deshler; his brother, Jim Deshler; and his first wife, Judy Deshler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rochella "Rocky"; his sons, Jeremy Deshler and Jacob (Rachel) Deshler; his siblings Janet, Judy, Jeff, John, and Joanne; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah, Judah, and Lyla, who brought him tremendous joy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Umatilla from 11 AM to 12:00 PM with the service starting at 12:00 PM as family and friends gather to honor and celebrate Jerry’s life.
