Jeanne Bennett's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanne Bennett of Crescent City, Florida on February1, 2025. Jeanne is known as a beloved wife, sister, dog mom, and friend, who left this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and culinary artistry.
Born with an indomitable spirit, Jeanne has owned 14 homes and just as many RVs over her 48+ years with her devoted husband, Capt. Bill Bennett. Jeanne had an extraordinary talent for transforming any space into a warm and welcoming home, a testament to her deep love and dedication.
Her journey into the culinary world was nothing short of remarkable. Jeanne, who once struggled to boil water, blossomed into a gourmet chef with a vast library of cookbooks and recipes. She compiled her favorite recipes into a treasured notebook, generously sharing her culinary delights with friends and family.
From the moment Jeanne and Bill met, their love story began. They married at Allaire State Park one year later and spent every possible moment together, creating a bond that was truly inseparable. Their time together was more than just shared years; it was a lifetime of cherished moments, adventures, and unwavering companionship.
Jeanne's zest for life was evident in her many passions, especially traveling, riding her Harley, and fishing. Their travels eventually led them to the Florida Keys, where Jeanne's love for fishing flourished. Whether she was reeling in a Mahi, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper, or a Bass, Jeanne's infectious smile and enthusiasm lit up the day. Her love for the open road and open waters led to a grand adventure where they sold everything, bought a motorhome, and journeyed through national and state parks, forests, and monuments.
Together, Jeanne and Bill ran an organic farm for 7 years, they owned a food concession business for 11 years and managed two different RV and cabin resorts for over 12 years. Jeanne's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication contributed greatly to their success.
Jeanne Bennett was more than just a wife and business partner; she was Bill's soulmate, best friend, and the love of his life. Her positive attitude and joy for living left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Capt. Bill Bennett, her loyal dog Ruger, and countless friends and family members who will forever cherish her memory.
