A picture of my Aunt Jean and Uncle Ray that has been, and will always be, on my refrigerator! God Bless them and keep them! My heart hurts but I know they are together again and that brings peace!
Growing up with my Aunt Jean and Uncle Ray in my life was, and still is, one of the highlights of my childhood and straight into adulthood! The special memories I have of both of them will forever be in my heart! When I was little Aunt Jean would come to Orlando and pick me up and take me for the summers to the lake house were my cousins and I would swim, play, and act like the kids we were. Monty Ray and I would eat a bowl full of alphabet cereal every evening before bed and if we were out Aunt Jean would make a special trip to town just to get us our cereal. I'll never forget the reaction on my Aunt Jean's face when she was having a luncheon with her friends at the lake house and Monty Ray, accidently, almost took my eye out with a BB gun. She was fit to be tied and poor Monty Ray... As I am writing this I am both laughing and crying! It wasn't going to be good when Uncle Ray hit the door that night. Monty and I both were hiding under the bed when he got home. I remember before I learned to swim falling off the dock into the lake and Vera having to jump in and rescue me and Aunt Jean was right there with a towel and lots of hugs and kisses and "Oh you poor baby, you poor thing, are you all right?" Scared her more then it did me I think. I spent a lot of time at the their house in high school too. My favorite memory of my Aunt Jean is when I was going to the Eustis prom and she came and picked me up in Orlando because I was in a cast up to my shoulder and couldn't drive. She was right by my side the whole time I got ready and even curled my hair for me. She spoiled me so... I can picture her now standing behind me, both of us looking into the mirror, as she was curling my hair and we were both laughing so hard because us two together was a hoot! I so wish we had stayed in touch after my daddy passed. My heart hurts for all of you and I am so sorry for your loss. Vera, Susan, and Monty Ray please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I love and miss you all so much! I'm just a phone call or Facebook away! Hugs, Love, and Prayers...
