Janet Ann Witt's Obituary
Janet Ann Witt, affectionately known as "Ann," age 72, of Eustis, Florida, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2024. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Eustis, Florida, on November 25, 1952, she was the daughter of Herbert and Mary Ann Smith.
On May 22, 1976, Ann exchanged vows with her beloved spouse, Johnnie Witt, marking the beginning of 48 joyous years of marriage filled with love, a beautiful family, and a rich life together. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother (fondly called "Nannie"), and friend. Her faith in her Savior was the cornerstone of her life, and her family was her greatest treasure. She cherished moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Renowned for her nurturing nature and boundless generosity, Ann had a heart overflowing with love. Her cooking and baking were expressions of her affection for family and friends, embodying her giving spirit. The beach was her favorite retreat, where she found joy and relaxation. Ann worked as a manager at Publix and also owned The Bait Shack in Leesburg, Florida. Additionally, she was a vibrant member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Cuthbert, Georgia.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Harold and Frank Wood, both from Eustis, Florida.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Johnnie Witt; her children, Stephanie Ann Thompson (Jeffrey) of Gainesville, Florida, Jennifer Witt of Orlando, Florida, and Arnold Eugene of Leesburg, Florida; her siblings, Terry Wood of Eustis, Florida, and Billy Wood of Altoona, Florida; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Hunter Logan Chandler from Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, and Ethan Hartley, Mattie Laurel, and Kate Alexandra Thompson, all of Gainesville, Florida.
A Memorial Service and heartfelt Celebration of Life will take place at The Hidden Barn Venue in Apopka, Florida, on January 12, 2025 at 2 PM.
