James W. "Jimmy" Spencer's Obituary
James W. "Jimmy" Spencer 73, of Tavares, passed away on May 17, 2019. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan, was raised in Eustis and returned to Lake County from Homosassa, Florida in 2016. He was a retired Supervising Engineer for General Motors and worked for GM for 47 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He earned the distinction of being an Eagle Scout. Jimmy is survived by his wife Jaye, his children, Elizabeth "Betsy" Heidel of Monroe, Georgia, Kelly Smith (Bart) of Griffin, Georgia and James "Jamie" Spencer also of Monroe, Georgia, his grandchildren, Jacob Heidel, Emily Heidel, Joey Heidel, Tyler Spencer, Aryn Spencer and Wyatt Spencer, his step children, Justin Jackson (Teri) of Weddington, North Carolina and Sasha Davis Saleman (Elliot) of Georgetown, Texas and his step grandsons, Jeremy Jackson, Zach Jackson, Eli Jackson, Nathan Jackson, Simon Saleman and Ethan Saleman.
There will be a gathering in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Saturday, May 25th from 10 AM until Noon, a Memorial with Military Honors will begin at 11 AM.
