James E. Smith's Obituary
James Edward Smith 92, of Tavares, passed away on May 20, 2018. He was born in Washington, D.C. and moved here from Spring Hill, Florida in 2015. He was a Veteran having served as a Radioman Third Class in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for the United States Civil Service as an Intelligence Officer for the United States Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hudson, Florida. James will be deeply missed by his wife Rayma, they were married for 68 years. Also surviving are his children; Gary (Marty) Smith of Peachtree City, Georgia, Donna (Greg) Shamrock of Eustis, Mark Edward Smith of Orlando and Steven (Becky Bone) Smith of Dubai, U.A.E., his brother George Smith of Midlothian, Virginia, his grandchildren; Scott Smith, Andrea Smith, Alan Shamrock and Keith Shamrock, and his great grandchildren; Emery Smith, Slade Smith and Lilah Smith. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Friday, May 25th at 11 AM, the family will greet friends from 10 AM until 11 AM. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
