James J. Mullany's Obituary
James J. Mullany 91, of Eustis, passed away on February 17, 2012. He was born in The Bronx, Long Island, New York and moved to the Eustis Mount Dora area in 1984 from Ft. Lauderdale. He was a retired tile setter and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora. Mr. Mullany was a Veteran serving in the United States Army Air Force during WWII as a Top Turret Gunner and a Flight Engineer aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress; he was a prisoner of war for 15 months in Germany and East Prussia, a member of the 452nd Bomb Group Association and the Ex-Prisoner of War Association. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; they were married for 65 years. Also surviving are his children Eileen P. Mullany and Kathleen (Clare) Garner of Mount Dora, James (Karen) Mullany and Timothy J. Mullany of Eustis and John R. (Jodi) Mullany of Ft. Lauderdale, grandchildren Brian and Greg (Amanda) Garner, Tara Kephart and Karrie Bates and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday from 4 until 6 PM, a Wake Service will be held at 5 PM, Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora on Tuesday, February 21st at 9 AM, honors by the Lake County Honor Guard will follow. The final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
