James D. Holloway's Obituary
James D. Holloway, 83 of Sorrento went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 2, 2021 while living at Avante Nursing Home of Leesburg. He was a dedicated family man who will be greatly missed and cherished for the rest of our lives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta Williams Holloway and father, James Henry Holloway both of Vanleer, Tennessee.
James David Holloway is survived by several relatives: his wife of 52 years, Sandra Richwine Holloway; his daughters; Amie Holloway Frisch (Charlie Frisch) and Debra Holloway Page (Margaret E. Weeks) of Archer, Florida; one grandson, John Tyler Davis of Leesburg, Florida and one cousin, Juanita Goodman of Columbia, Tennessee.
James David Holloway had a 45 year career in the field of Water/ Wastewater Treatment. He eventually became Superintendent of Orange County Public Works.
James David Holloway enjoyed dabbling in poetry, loved to mow, loved to coach softball and also enjoyed the five years he volunteered at AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares, Florida. He also authored a book of poetry, "My Rambling Mind".
He is being cremated and there will be no services as were his wishes. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Research.
