James F. Gilger's Obituary
James F. "Jim" Gilger 91, of Tavares passed away on April 16, 2015. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 25, 1923, the son of Roy and Gertrude Duignan Gilger. He was graduate of the University of Toledo, retired from the insurance industry and was a Charter Life Underwriter. He was a devoted husband to his wife Mary Ellen, she passed away earlier this year after 67 years of marriage. Together they loved and raised 2 children, Jenny (who works for Honda in California) and Jeffery (Beth) who live in Columbus, Ohio. He enjoyed the blessings of 4 grandchildren; Kristin (Justin Greiner), Abigail, Lydia, and Caleb & 1 great grandchild. Also surviving is his sister; Marilyn Shimer of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Jim was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II, he was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, the American Legion and formerly was a member of Pine Meadows Golf and Country Club of Eustis.
