Irma Peterson's Obituary
Irma Peterson, who was called “Oma” by everyone, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday March 30th. She was born 87 years ago in Augsburg, Germany to Josef and Maria Braun. She had one brother, Alfred. During World War II she was trained as a weather observer. In 1952 she immigrated to the United States to marry a young American soldier, Max Peterson of Colorado. She was granted United States citizenship in 1953, a privilege she was most proud of. Oma was a wonderful mother and homemaker and would continuously try to improve her English skills by playing hours of Scrabble. She enjoyed traveling, swimming and garage sales. She is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Peterson, son-in-law, Lloyd Purdy, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She lived in Central Florida for fifty years and called Mount Dora home for the past three years. Services were private with interment in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora. Wir werden Dich nie vergessen.
