Hugh L. "Rocky" Flowers' Obituary
Hugh L. "Rocky" Flowers 86, of Tampa, passed away on September 18, 2013. He was born in Winter Park, moved to Eustis in 1941 and was a Lake County resident until moving to Tampa in 2007. He was a long time member of the First Church of God of Eustis. Hugh was a professional driver including having worked for Duracrete of Leesburg from 1956 until 1989. He was a proud Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Hugh was predeceased by his wife Frances in 2008, they had been married for 55 years and his son Rickey Flowers in 2013. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his children; David Flowers of Gainesville, Teresa (John) Archer of Tampa and Donna Flowers of Eustis, his sister Ina Peterson of Tampa, cousin Colene Ward of Oviedo, brother and sister in law; Boyd and Doreen White of Sorrento, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his beloved poodle, Goldie. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM Friday in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel, Funeral Services will be in the First Church of God of Eustis at 1 PM Saturday with Rev. Ronald Holder officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
