Hector Garcia's Obituary
Hector Garcia 97, of Sorrento, passed away on July 25, 2014. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved here in 1995 from Long Island, New York. He founded Amerford International Corporation in 1946 and was a leader in the international freight forwarding business, but more importantly, he was a true gentleman. Hector served his country in the United States Army during World War II; he fought at Utah Beach during the invasion of Normandy and in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora. He is survived by his son Richard (Carmela) Garcia of Seaford, New York, daughter; Geralyn Garcia of Bay Shore, New York, brothers; Arthur Garcia and Benjamin Garcia both of New Jersey, sisters; Maria Long of Windermere, Florida, Christina Price of Iowa and Elena of New Jersey, grandchildren; Julie Capone, Lisa Capone and Kristen Garcia and his great grandchildren; Jake Pulhous, Johnathan Pulhous and William Pulhous.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 AM on Tuesday, July 29th in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora.
