Gerald "GG" Broome's Obituary
Ivy Gerald "GG" Broome 70, of Leesburg, passed away on February 19, 2017. He was born and raised in Eustis and graduated from Eustis High School in 1964. While in school he was a local legend as a pitcher for the EHS baseball team. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Gerald retired as a laboratory manager for Deep South Products, a Winn Dixie company, in 2000 and returned to Lake County. GG then worked for the Lake County School System for 12 years as a bus driver. He was a member of AMVETS Post 1992 of Mount Dora and the Leesburg Moose Lodge. He is survived by his children; Christopher Allen Broome and Kevin Scott Broome, both of Mount Dora and Brian Broome and his wife Leslie of Tifton, Georgia, his siblings; Tommy Broome and his wife Kim of Chuckey, Tennessee, Trudy Adams and her husband Jeff of Melbourne and Susie Edenfield of Mount Dora and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Sunday, February 26th at 1 PM.
