Georgia Mae White
February 17, 1934 – January 2, 2026
Georgia Mae White, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 17, 1934, peacefully passed away in Leesburg, Florida, on January 2, 2026. Georgia spent the last 20 years living in Florida, but her roots and faith were deeply tied to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was a devoted member of Cannon Baptist Church. She loved singing gospel music and shared her joy through her voice and her radiant smile.
Georgia was the heart of her family—a loving mother who dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. She was known for her warmth, her dancing spirit, and her incredible cooking and baking, especially her signature pineapple coconut cake that brought family and friends together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her beloved sons Kenneth Ammons and Henry “Hank” White.
Georgia leaves behind cherished memories with her surviving children: John Ammons, Henrietta Thomas, Theresa White, Debra (William McGattigan) White, and Lena (William) Richardson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Georgia’s life will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and she will be laid to rest at Chelton Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
