George L. Stamey's Obituary
George L. Stamey 67, of Sorrento, passed away on March 16, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, Tennessee and moved here in 1979 from Auburndale, Florida. George was a member of the Belleview Church of God and a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sherry, they were married for 47 years. Also surviving are his daughters; Crystal Stamey and Denise Young both of Sorrento, his siblings; Charles Stamey of Sylvester, Georgia, Edna Smith and Elizabeth Blakely both of Winter Haven, Florida and Dale Campbell of Steel, Missouri. He was predeceased by his brother; James Stamey in 1988 and his sister; Cora Carruth in 2015. Visitation will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Thursday, March 22nd from 5 until 7 PM, Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Friday, March 23rd at 11 AM. Interment will U.S. Army Honors will follow in Lakeside memory Gardens, Eustis.
