Dad, I remember as a child on Saturday mornings you would take us 3 little ones to look at job sites and to help you or just go and visit some of your friends so mom could get some work done around the house w/o us bothering her. Then you would take us to the store to get a soda, it was so hard for me to make up my mind if I wanted to get an orange or grape soda as it was a special treat to have a soda. On Sunday afternoons you would take the whole family out for a 10. ice cream cone (if Grandpa hadn't come over with a gallon of ice cream). As I grew up you taught me the value of a dollar and the importance of having good credit and always having a savings account. You took me to the bank one day when I was 17 and co-signed a $600.00 personal loan, then you told me to put the money into a saving account and make the payments for 6 months (remember not to ever be late on a payment), then to pay off the loan. You wanted me to establish credit that I would need for the future. From then on I always made all my payments on time, always had a savings account and never spent my money before I had it in hand. Thank you for this life long lesson, maybe that is why I married a banker he holds the same values!!! I have kept the Easter tradition of the egg fight we had each year as children and my kids just can't wait to see who will be the "egghead" winner. I will now miss it when I call the house and Mom would say: "Dad said he loves you", and I would say tell him "Ditto". Thank you God for giving me my dad, and please take care of him for all of us. "Ditto"!##imported-begin##Mary Lou Best##imported-end##
