Gary Dean Nicholson's Obituary
Gary Dean Nicholson 70, of Eustis, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. He was born in Ft. Madison, Iowa and came to this area from Burlington, Iowa in 1980. Gary was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Christian and was a retired parts and service manager in the automotive industry. Gary loved dirt track racing and drove his own car, #63, in Barberville, Florida, he also raced extensively in Illinois and Iowa. He is survived by his wife Connie, they were married for 50 years. Also surviving are his daughter; Lori (Steve) Koontz of Tavares, granddaughter; Madison Conway and his brother; Frank (Linda) Nicholson of Niota, Illinois. Gary was predeceased by his father, Donald Nicholson of Eustis, his mother, Helen Ayers of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and his sister Barbara "Bobbi" (Nolan) Gilpin of Niota, Illinois.
To honor Gary Nicholson's life, the family has decided to make Sunday, February 26th a WWGD [What Would Gary Do] day. As you know, he would be watching The Daytona 500! So wherever you are, turn on the race and remember Gary. Better yet, come by their house (38312 CR 439, Eustis FL 32736) from 1 pm to 5 pm on February 26th and share a memory with the family.
