Frank Tugend's Obituary
Charles Frank Tugend Jr. passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the age of 95. He was born on April 23, 1918 in Wilmington, DE to the late Charles and Hazel Tugend. Frank served his country in the United States Army during WWII achieving the rank of Major, and was involved in the planning for an invasion into Japan. While living in Chestertown, Maryland he was very active in boating, and belonged to the local yacht club. Frank also loved golf, was an avid reader, and a dog lover. He worked for many years as a manager for the DuPont Corp. Textile Div. Locally in Florida he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Dora. Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 44 years, Patricia Finley Tugend on February 11, 2009. Surviving are one step-son; Thomas (Diana) Finley of Oakboro, North Carolina, a step-daughter; Diane Finley of Eustis, Florida, a granddaughter; Patricia (Johnny) Stout and a great-grandson; Shad Stout. Frank also leaves behind his beloved pet dog; Kate. Memorial Services will be held in the Waterman Village Chapel on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10 AM, reconvening at Lakeside Memory Gardens, 36601 County Rd 19A in Eustis for a short veteran's sendoff and committal at 11:30 or few minutes before. Clergy will be provided by The First Presbyterian Church of Mount Dora. This will be followed by a reception in the front room of the lodge at Waterman Village at approximately 12:15.
