Frances Duprez Schulman's Obituary
Frances Crane Duprez Schulman Age 94 of Eustis Florida
Daughter of Bernard Chatman Crane and Maude Angele Knepper. Frances was born in Pueblo, Colorado on June 10, 1921. She moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado at age 7 and graduated from Colorado Springs High School where she was a cheerleader. She attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where she met and married Louis E. Duprez, a professional golfer, on February 4, 1940.
They moved to Los Angeles, California for Louis to play on the golf tour. Frances transferred to U.S.C. where she majored in Voice and graduated in 1943. Because of World War II, the golf tour was suspended and the couple moved to Colorado. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1956 where she was President of the Women of University Presbyterian Church. In 1964, Louis and Frances moved to Oklahoma City. Frances was President of the Art League, President of Oklahoma Hospitality, and National President of Tuberous Sclerosis Association.
Louis and Frances retired to Florida in 1980 and lived in Century Village in Pembroke Pines where Frances acted in the Repertory Theater and was a Rockette dancer. Louis passed away October 28, 1995 after 55 years of marriage. On December 29, 1996, Frances married Louis’ best golf buddy, Murray Schulman. Murray died in September 2001.
Frances was preceded in death by her three sisters: Genevieve Black of California, Lucille Thornton of California, and Gertrude Siebers of Colorado. Frances is survived by two children: Carolyn D. Cottle (David) of Eustis, Florida; and Conrad L. Duprez (Judy) of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Sheila K. Kehren, her travel companion to Europe and her “emergency auxiliary daughter.”
Also survived by five grandchildren: David W. Cottle, Jr. of Austin, Texas; Rand D. Cottle (Hongyun) of Albany, New York; Danielle Duprez of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Mitchell L. Duprez (Laura) of Norman, Oklahoma; and Emily Emmett (Philip) of Burleson, Texas. Her twelve great-grandchildren are: Will Cottle (Laura) of Spring, Texas; Chase L. Cottle of Austin, Texas; Hunter M. Cottle (engaged to Carly) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Blake E. Cottle of Eustis, Florida; Sarah K. Cottle of Eustis, FL, their mother Monica L. Cottle of Eustis, FL; Brock W. Cottle of Albany, New York; Drake L. Cottle of Albany, New York; Miles Duprez, Tess Duprez, and Jane Frances Duprez of Norman, Oklahoma; Liam and Sutton Emmett of Burleson, Texas.
All will miss their Grandma and Great Grandma.
Frances was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Eustis where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
