Floyd M. Gilbert Kestner, Jr.'s Obituary
Floyd M. Gilbert Kestner, Jr. of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Derry Township, Pennsylvania. Floyd proudly served his country in the US Army during the Cuban Crisis. He served 25 years before retiring. After his military career, Floyd went to work for Kennametal, Inc., an industrial tool supplier. He worked in sales and management and retired after 38 years. Gib, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, enjoyed woodworking. As a young man, he was in several drum corps. He moved to this area from Woodridge, Illinois in 2005. Floyd was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, where he was very active.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Delores Kestner of Derry, PA in 2020. Floyd is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; son, Michael G. Kestner (Sherry) of Pacifica, CA; daughters, Margie L. Gray (Jackie) of Dilworth, Minnesota, Beth A. Trupiano of Mount Dora and Cathy Adamson (Timothy) of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; as well as 2 grandchildren, Chandler Gray of Dilworth, Minnesota and TJ Adamson of Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Services will be held in Derry, PA through Merlin Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Derry.
