To my Sweet Ernie, my drive to bible study and Dr. G's office, will sure be lonely, without you. You had such a heart for people. You showed me how to make friends with everyone. You could talk to anyone and get their life story. You hurt when your friends and family were hurting and you laughed and made everyone around you laugh. So many wonderful memories. Of the most recent was the visit to her Tuesday. She looked good and said she felt so much better. The hugs and smiles we shared then. Also on Mothers Day she came by with two orchids from the church since my 101 year old mother and I could not attend. She was always thinking of others. What a wonderful Christian lady. Prayers for her beloved family.
I met Ernie in the 2nd grade at Live Oak Street Elementary School. We have remained friends through the 12 Grades We were cheerleaders together in7th and 8th grades and for 64 more years. 3/4 of a century we remained in touch and friends. We missed a few years in between then met up again and she was the same happy person, but I could see she was happiest because she had come to know Christ and enjoyed serving him. She has always been a happy person and tried to help all she came in contact with. We will miss her at our class get-to-gathers She really enjoyed picking and teasing and enjoyed her self with anyone around her, She loved her family and we will all miss her.....we her classmate friends will especially because she kept us laughing and always ready to do so. Miss Ernestine was such a Sweetheart. She would wait until The Hilltop Ramblers were on stage and I would play her song, Miss Ernestine would enter the dance floor with her fantastic dance moves, and move through the audience while being cheered by all..again..What a Sweetheart...
