Enid M. Miller's Obituary
Enid M. Miller, 80 passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her home in Umatilla, Florida. She was born March 14, 1929 at home in White Oak Township, Ingham County, Michigan, the daughter of Edward J. Whipple and Mabel E. (Peterson) Whipple, the youngest of ten children. She was a member of the Umatilla Seventh-day Adventist Church. She retired from Florida Hospital Orlando in 1991, having worked there for 20 years as a Nursing Assistant. She will be remembered as a gentle soul, an avid reader and history buff. She was jokingly referred to as a "walking encyclopedia" by her family and friends especially when it came to having answers to questions regarding Biblical history. She is survived by her three children Kathleen Greenfield of Umatilla, Florida, Judy Ayers of Jacksonville, Florida, and Fred Miller of Eustis, Florida; her grandchildren Marcus Helms of Savannah, Georgia, Sophie Ayers of Arcadia, Florida and Christina Miller of Charleston, West Virginia; great grandchildren Christian and Sebastian Helms of Sanford, Florida. She is also survived by a sister Marjorie Hepburn of Chelsea, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Her close friend in recent years was Gladys Marie Gerhke a niece of Asotin, Washington. She was preceded in death by two brothers, six sisters and one great granddaughter, Sara Ayers. Her son-in-law Glenn Greenfield is remembered as part of her family and for his support during her illness. She was very thankful for his help and her many caregivers especially Dolly, Anne & her hospice team. Memorial services were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 2 PM with Pastor Jim Appel officiating. The final resting place is Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
