Emmy "Annette" Sims' Obituary
EMMY ANNETTE SIMS October 12, 1960
A lifelong resident of Lake County, passed away unexpectedly February 19, 2021. She was one of three children born to Warren and Jean Morgan. She graduated from Mt. Dora High School in 1978. Went on to Florida State University and received her bachelor of science in Social Services. Annette began her career with the Department of Children & Families, and then moved on to the Children’s Home Society in 2004 as a child welfare licensing supervisor. She was a fierce advocate for foster parents and children, touching so many lives with her warmth and kind heart. Annette was loved and respected by her colleagues. She enjoyed her work immensely. She continued her education to be the best she can be for all children’s and families, achieving a master’s degree in Applied Social Services from the University of Central Florida.
In addition, she raised two children Jessica Lashay Sims and Justin Robert Sims with her life- time partner Pam Henry. Once the oldest graduated from high school, Annette & Pam fostered numerous children in need of care before Annette adopted 4 more children, John Henry Sims, Jarrell Deondrae Anthony Sims, Jayna Marie Sims and Jacob Fredrick Sims.
Annette is also survived by her Mother Jean Morgan, loving sister Deborah Jean Morgan of Mt. Dora, Florida, nephew Eric Jeffrey Morgan, daughter in law Desiree’ Sims of St. Pete, Florida, son in law Patrick Gleason of Las Vegas, Nevada and four beautiful grandchildren who loved her dearly, Jacquez Warren Sims, Olivia Justice-Anee’ Sims, Darien Laurent Sims (Justin & Desiree Sims), Axel Jace Gleason (Jessica Sims & Patrick Gleason).
Annette's love for her family is entrenched in our hearts forever. Annette is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who love her. Annette is predeceased by her loving brother Jeffrey Warren Morgan.

The service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1:00PM at First Presbyterian Church, located at; 222 West Sixth Avenue, Mt. Dora, Florida 32757. A visitation will be held prior to the service from noon until 1:00PM with a committal service following at Pine Forest Cemetery, of Mount Dora at 2:00PM
As you all know Annette was a devoted Florida State Seminole fan and alumni. The family would be touched if you wear her teams colors to the service to show your support in Annette's honor.
