Elmer Becker Henry

Elmer Becker Henry of Eustis, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Columbus, Indiana on December 11, 1938, Elmer was the beloved son of Kenneth Becker and Eunice Fern (Ryan) Henry.
Elmer proudly served in the United States Navy for six years—four active and two in the reserves—attaining the rank of Boatswain’s Mate and serving aboard the LST 1162 USS Wahkiakum County. Following his military service, he worked as an electrician at Georgia Power Company’s Plant Hammond in Rome, Georgia, retiring in 1994 after 23 years of dedicated service.
He was a man of many interests and talents. Elmer enjoyed bowling, woodworking, stamp and coin collecting, fishing, and hunting. He was also an active member in numerous clubs and organizations, including:

On July 2, 1960, Elmer married the love of his life, Betty Jane Lashley, at Pine Hills Baptist Church. Together they built a life full of love, family, and cherished memories. Elmer was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Becker, mother Eunice Fern (Ryan) Henry, stepfather Willard “Slim,” Lowell Henry, Sr. and brothers, Willard Lowell Henry Jr., and Donald Becker Henry.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty J. Henry; son, Carl Everett Henry; daughters, Sherilyn Kay Cosson (and son-in-law Wiley Cosson), Lori Ann Hall, and Karyn Elizabeth Martin; sister, Louetta “Sis” Mae King (and brother-in-law John William “Bill” King); brother, Steve Allen Henry (and wife Patti J. Henry); and many loving nieces and nephews: Patrick and Kim King, Tammy, Tim Henry, Melissa, Tiffany, Mike, Donna Kay Roberts, David Henry, and Danny Henry.
Elmer also leaves behind grandchildren Thomas Cosson, Andrew Jr., Leslie Hall, and James Clarke, and one great-grandchild, Delilah Clarke.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1 PM at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, Florida.
