Ella C. Paets' Obituary
Ella C. Paets, a beloved resident of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ella spent her early years in New York before moving to Florida 50+ years ago, where she built a life filled with love, creativity, and community.
Ella met Henry Paets and fell in love. They were married in 1989. They shared 31 wonderful years together until Henry’s passing in December 2020.
Drawn by her passion for arts and crafts, Ella relocated to Mount Dora where she has loved for over 30 years. She enjoyed making and selling her crafts, a hobby that brought her immense joy and connected her with many in the community.
A dedicated educator, Ella worked for the school system for over 30 years, retiring as an Assistant Principal. Her commitment to education and her students left a lasting impact on many lives. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society, where she formed cherished friendships.
Ella and Henry shared a love for travel, exploring the country extensively and visiting many parts of the world. They also enjoyed attending plays at the IceHouse Theatre in Mount Dora. Ella’s love for writing led her to contribute articles to the Pulse magazine of Mount Dora, sharing her insights and experiences with the community.
Ella was preceded in death by her son, Andy Borok. She is survived by her sons, Lee (Marla) Kim of Shorewood, Illinois, Harold Borok of Miami, Florida, and Jonathan Paets of China; her stepdaughter, Jorilet Paets of Mount Dora; and her grandson, Alexander Kim of Shorewood, Illinois.
Ella’s warmth, creativity, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
