Edmond Henry Jenkins Sr.'s Obituary
Edmond Henry Jenkins Sr. 78 of Leesburg passed away on Tuesday February 2, 2010. He was born in Sparrows Point, Maryland and moved here in 1978 from Clewiston. Mr. Jenkins was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the United States Coast Guard having served for twenty years, he also was a diesel mechanic and worked for the United States Sugar Company in Clewiston and Southern Freightways of Eustis, additionally he worked as an installer for St. Louis Heating and Air Conditioning of Eustis. He was a Baptist, a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a member of the United States Coast Guard Chiefs Association. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Norma Jean Thames of Eustis, Elizabeth (William) Adkison of Umatilla, and Charlene Lynn Cochenet of Wildwood, his siblings, Charles L. Jenkins Jr. of Rockledge, Florida, Robert R. Jenkins of Germany, Patrick E. Jenkins of Cocoa, Florida, Marjorie J. Runnels of Rockledge, nine grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Ann Brandenburger in 2007, his son Edmond Jenkins Jr. in 1995 and his granddaughter Danielle Lynn Cochenet-Kiernicki in 2009. Services will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday at 11 AM with Rev. Darrell Reed officiating, interment will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. The family will receive friends in the Chapel on Sunday from Noon until 2 PM. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to the American Cancer Society.
