E.L. "Len" Williams' Obituary
E. L. “Len” Williams, 88, of Eustis, passed away on September 5, 2015. He was born in Oaky Streak, Alabama on October 9, 1926 and graduated from the Rawls School where he played basketball and baseball. He moved to Eustis in 1949 from Mount Dora. He was the owner of Williams Oil Company of Eustis, a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War, a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis, Eustis Lodge 1578, B.P.O.E., he enjoyed bowling and golf, he was a director and former president of the Florida Petroleum Marketers Association, a director of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America, a founding member and past president of the Lake County Gator Club a member of Gator Boosters, former director of the First State Bank and Trust Company Eustis, former Mayor and City Commissioner of Eustis, served on the Lake County Republican Committee and was appointed to serve on the Lake County Water Authority, a former member and president of the Eustis Jaycees and former member and president of the Rotary Club of Eustis. Len is survived by his son, James Williams, of Minneola, daughter, Rhoda, of Eustis, grandchildren Erin (Jessie King) of Mount Dora, and Gregory of Ft. Lauderdale, and great granddaughter, Kendal King, Mount Dora, brothers Grady Williams of Wing, Alabama, and Rodney Williams of Crestview, Florida, and sister Alice Bryson of Pace, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, the former Anna Lee Eicher, in 2013.
