Doug was one of the first people I got to know well when we moved to Eustis in 1994. I met him when we visited a Eustis Lions Club meeting. Over the next 11 years, my wife, Sharon, and I had the opportunity to share many special experiences with Doug, his wife, Jennie, and the other Eustis Lions.Doug loved Eustis, and he shared many stories with me of the years when Eustis was a much smaller town. He especially enjoyed the times in recent years that he and I helped the Eustis Lions decorate and tow their float trailer in the Washington's Birthday Festival Parade.Doug deeply loved model railroading and model railroading shows. As a model railroader and diecast vehicle collector myself, we "talked trains" often and shared much joy in keeping our childhood interests growing throughout our whole lives. I will miss Doug's friendship and loyalty. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know him, as we began our new lives in Florida.I offer my sincere sympathy to all the family and friends who share this loss. I am also very thankful that Doug has no more pain and is completely whole again. I look forward to spending more time with him again someday. The "end" is just the beginning.##imported-begin##Larry Nester##imported-end##
