Doris J. Tornavacca's Obituary
Doris J. Tornavacca of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. After high school, Doris attended business college and worked for Consolidated Freightways as an Executive Secretary. In 1979, she moved to Lake County Florida from Akron, Ohio. She worked as a receptionist for Lake Pediatrics for 17 years before retiring in 2012. In addition to her careers, Doris was a homemaker, taking good care of her family. She was also a dog lover and raised Shelties, Pomeranians and Shih Tzus for many years. Doris was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Eustis, FL. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her son, Charles L. Tornavacca and his partner, Serina Adams of Tavares, FL; daughter, Gail A. Carlson and her husband, Tom of Umatilla, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Tornavacca of Tampa, FL, Mark T. Carlson and his wife, Kristi Burns of Leesburg, Leigh Boreske and her husband, Jeremy of Grand Island, FL, Jane Carlson of Umatilla, Matthew F. Carlson of Conway, AR, and Luke T. Carlson and his partner, Travis McIntosh of Santa Cruz, CA; great grandchildren, Tyler Boreske, Emma Boreske, Kailand Carlson, Xander Carlson, Rowan Carlson, Zachary Boreske, Anya Carlson, Wyatt Carlson and Tenley Carlson; nephews, Gary Freidhoff and Philip Freidhoff; niece, Mary Michel and her dog, Misty. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her twin brother, Donald Freidhoff and her grandson, Paul J. Carlson.
A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
