Donald M. Hord's Obituary
Donald M. Hord of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Marion, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 8 years. He was a machinist and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea for part of his service. He also served in the Honor Guard. After his military service he worked as a carpenter and construction supervisor, building houses until he retired. Don moved to Leesburg from Dacula, Georgia in 2000. He attended the Leesburg Church of the Nazarene.
Don was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Carolyn Ann in 2005. His second wife, Mona, passed away in 2013 and he was predeceased by his son, Todd M. Hord, in 2017. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Tammy (Ralph) Jones of Leesburg; sons, Tim (Remedios) Hord of Astatula, Florida, Terry Hord, Tommy Hord and Tony Hord, all of Leesburg; brother, Thomas (Debbie) Hord of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandy (Todd) Kremer of Grand Island, Florida, Morgan (Matt) Steele of Leesburg, Shelby Hord (Brandon) of Umatilla, Florida, Michael Todd Hord and Brittany; and 3 great grandchildren, Jase, Aliyah and Ella.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Wednesday, January 8 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with a funeral ceremony starting at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. His final resting place will be Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
