Donald G. Hanson's Obituary
Donald G. Hanson of Mount Dora passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 81. He was a native Floridian, born in Jacksonville. Don proudly served his country in the US Air Force. After his military service, he worked as a dairy farmer until he retired. Don loved to fish. He also enjoyed painting, playing Golf, and wood working.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Victor Hanson and Steve Hanson; sisters, Anita Bessent and Joyce Jones; and his grandson, Christopher. Don is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 36 years, Joyce; sons, Howard Thomas of Gainesville, Mark Thomas of Tampa, Scott (Joanne) Hanson of Sorrento and Keith Wesley Hanson of Orlando; daughters, Deborah Owsley of St. Augustine, Amy Deas of Gainesville and Leslie (Jimmy) Rotarius of Eustis; brothers, Ernest Hanson, Gary Hanson and Mike Hanson; sisters, Delores Williams, Linda Hernandez and Diane Stacks; grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Jamie, Kelsey, Kacey, Noah, Bailey, Gabriel, Mackenzie, Rileigh, Zachary, Hunter, Cody and Macyn; and great-grandchildren, Raylee, Lane, Hudson, Emily, and Rowan.
There will be a gathering for family and friends, Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00 AM at Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
