Dollie Mae Ricketts' Obituary
Dollie Mae Ricketts, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2021, at the young age of 69.
Dollie is survived by her children; Shannon Anderson, Roger and Angela Shirley, Tami Mosier, Britany and Roger Johnson; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mother Claudia “Mae” McEvers, her father William “Bill” McEvers, her grandson Chadrick “Little Chad” Anderson.
Dollie was a loving Mom and a protective “Nanny” to all of her grandbabies. Her grandbabies did no wrong in her eyes and were her world. She loved her family and they all loved her. She enjoyed family get togethers, fishing, playing dice and the beach. Dollie was born on May 29, 1952, in Belleville, Illinois to William and Claudia McEvers. Dollie grew up in Windermere with her mother, father, 3 sisters (Sandra, Shelly, and Tammy) and brother (Mike). They spent their days out on their lake fishing, swimming, skiing, and skipping records across the lake from the dock. She was a school bus driver for many years at OCPS before she opened a new construction cleaning company. Before she retired, she was a retail store manager.
Dollie never met a stranger. She talked to everyone she came in contact with. Anyone who met her instantly had a friend. She made the best chicken and dumplings, dressing for Thanksgiving, fudge and really anything she cooked.
Her smile, advise, her I Love Yous will be deeply missed. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family and friends.
Go rest high on those mountains, Mom.
The family will have a Celebration of Life on October 3rd starting at 2 P.M. at Hickory Point in Howey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a side dish, drink or dessert. We will Celebrate Dollie’s life, by doing one thing she loved, a family BBQ.
