Dennis DeWayne Hoover's Obituary
Dennis DeWayne Hoover passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on December 14, 1974, in Columbia, Missouri, Dee, as he was known to his family and friends, brought light and laughter to all who knew him.
In 1982, Dennis and his family relocated to central Florida, where he attended Apopka Middle School and later graduated from Apopka High School. A patriot at heart, Dennis proudly served his country as a United States Marine, exemplifying honor, courage, and commitment in all that he did.
Faith played a significant role in Dennis's life, and he attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, where he found comfort, community, and purpose.
Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Isabel and Ralph Emmott, MD, and Inez and Emanuel Zavala. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Isabel Anne Williams of Eustis; his father, Leslie W. Hoover of Fulton, Missouri; and his stepfather, Jose Luis Zavala of Mount Dora. Dennis is also survived by his son, Christopher Hoover of Orlando, Florida; his brothers, Joshua Luis Zavala and Abbi Zavala of Leesburg and Adrian J. Zavala and partner Matt Zavala of LaSalle, Illinois; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dennis’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Zellwood Community Center. Family and friends are invited to share their condolences, memories, and photos on the tribute wall, celebrating the legacy of a remarkable man whose presence will be deeply missed.
