Dennis "Denny" Witt's Obituary
Dennis “Denny” Edward Witt, 76, of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025. Born on October 10, 1948, in Rose Hill, Virginia, Denny lived a life full of passion, adventure, and deep devotion to his family and friends.
Denny moved to Florida in 1970, where he pursued his lifelong love of antique car restoration. His craftsmanship and dedication made him a respected figure in the restoration community. A true enthusiast, Denny was deeply involved in the world of NHRA drag racing, as a crew member with the Treadwell Racing Team.
Beyond the garage, Denny was a man of many talents and interests. He was a licensed small plane pilot, an avid gun collector, and a skilled skeet shooter. He and his beloved wife Marion shared a love for travel, exploring new places and making memories together. Their love story began in the 9th grade and blossomed into a marriage that spanned nearly six decades, beginning in 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Hermon and Pearl Witt, and his brother Ronnie. He is survived by his devoted wife Marion Witt; his daughter Lavonna Witt (Linda Topping); his sister Lisa Witt; his cherished granddaughter Gabrielle (Rachel) Zinn; and his great-grandchildren Anabella and James Carter. He also leaves behind his goddaughter Ashley Miller, extended family Glen, Sharon, Jammie, Jenny, and Julie Treadwell, Scott Rose, Nancy Rodrigues, and his close friend Milton Raines—along with countless others whose lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and generosity.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM at East Lake Community Church in Sorrento, Florida. All who knew and loved Denny are welcome to attend and share in honoring his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a kidney foundation or Compassionate Care Hospice in Lady Lake, Florida.
