Delores "Dee" Joy Huot's Obituary
Delores “Dee” J. (Gerding) Huot of Eustis, Florida (formerly of Jacksonville, IL and Beaverton, MI) passed away peacefully April 30th, 2021 at her residence in Eustis. Born in Chesaning, MI on May 9th, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Ann Gerding. Dee married Lawrence “Larry” T. Huot June 16th, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by her five children; Bernard F. Huot, Maryland, Thomas A. (JoAn) Huot of Alexander, Illinois, Eric L. (Wela) Huot of the Philippines, Valerie A. (Joe) Soisson of Pennsylvania, Brian W. (Sharon) Huot of Maine, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Douglas (Mary Lou) Gerding of Michigan, Marcia White of Michigan, Sally (Steve) Hewitt of Florida, and Greg (Lynn) Gerding of Michigan. Proceeding her in death is her sister Betty Hritz.
While in Jacksonville, Larry and Dee made their home at the Illinois School for the Deaf. Dee continued to be involved with the deaf community wherever she resided. She was an avid bowler and was a past president of the Junior Woman’s Club in Jacksonville. Dee also loved to crochet and shared her talents with others.
A private service was held May 13th, 2021 where she was laid to rest next to her beloved husband Larry at the Florida National Cemetery.
